Eric Daniel Rosita Some of Year 3 class, photographed before the Easter holiday.
The month started with the 10th birthday of Ashlee in my Year 5 class. She was kind enough to invite me to her party.
In April comes Easter and another great opportunity to discover some more of Mexico. Also my mother was coming out to visit for two weeks so I planned a trip to Yucatan with two days before in Mexico City. I had been to Mexico City a few times now, and I can honestly that not being much of a city person, I am usually glad to get out of it. However, with the intention of showing mother some sights, it was good to rediscover the Zocalo and some of the places that I first encountered when I was on vacation here in 1997. One place that I didn't have time to look at closely then was the Templo Mayor. I was very pleasantly surprised by what an interesting site this was. It was the ancient Aztec's main temple discovered by chance in 1978. It was dedicated to the gods Huitzilopotchli (war) and Tlaloc (rain) before being flattened by Cortes.

As we walked back to the hotel in the late afternoon we encountered this animated demonstration. What the demonstration was about exactly I shall probably never know.
On April 11th we transferred to the airport and flew to Merida in the state of Yucatan. CLICK HERE to learn about this great trip.
